I've been doing this a lot over the past year and I am now faced with the stark truth that in my former social circle, I'm the only one that has/had a problem with all of this. That's been very hard to come to grips with.

I guess my question as a non poli-sci kid, is how is this not a distinction without a difference as a practical matter? The end result of both is dictatorship, so what difference does it make to the population being oppressed?

Yeah, it's never good when a switch comes back up and gets into a slap-fight with its failover over which one is primary. I spend most of my days babysitting a couple of vCenter stacks though. That's a whole different circle of hell.

Rebooting solves a multitude of sins but there's always that ONE server that makes everyone pray to whatever God they hold dear as it comes back up and it's usually Exchange.
