Sadly, the only people who will give a shit about this are going to be liberals who already think healthcare is a basic human right. Conservatives will fill their consciences up with some pretext that tells them these people deserve it for being deadbeats.

The biggest threat to national security is well-connected ppl with clearances. Your average gubby wouldn't dare violate clearance protocol. They have no protection. But the richest man in the world probably feels invincible for good reason. Everything is for sale in America. Just pony up the dough.

Yeah, it's not all bad. I've connected with a lot of family and old friends that I wouldn't have any contact with anymore but for social media. But yeah, overall, I don't think it's a positive for the human race. I really worry about how it's affecting young people who've never known any other way.

People aren't making a big enough deal about this. It's so unprecedented for a President to send in federal soldiers to cities with no immediate problem. This is what you do for open rebellion or a major natural disaster. But they've got to fit this narrative that liberal cities are warzones.

Ok, bc trans people have committed such a disproportionate amount of terrorism. I can't even think of a terrorist act committed by a trans person. You want to get at the heart, white straight males should be profiled. I say that as a white straight male myself. We do like 70% of terrorist acts.

It's depressing what whores our corporate leaders are for the status quo. I guess it shouldn't be too surprising. The status quo is working well for them. Of course they'd try to preserve it. I just had some fool notion in my head that they gave the slightest of shits about appearances.

Never appreciated how angry driving makes me until I went w/o a car for 4 years. Every time I did drive I'd find myself yelling at all the "idiots" on the road and pounding my fist on the steering wheel within 5 min. I'll gladly take a 30% longer commute to be able to watch TV on my phone in peace.

It's insanely easy to get banned from Reddit nowadays. I go out of my way not to say anything mean on there and every account I have will inevitably get perma-banned within a few months. It's a completely different site than it was 10 years ago.

Well for one, Poland joined the EU in 2004. The EU isn't perfect, but it did an enormous amount to resolve a problem that has held back Europe for a long time: disunity. American pols rarely attack the real problems affecting Americans (eg healthcare) bc it's so easy for big money to buy them off.

One of my proudest moments living in the DC area was when I saw an announcement posted by the city and it was written in like 10 different languages, and I didn't recognize the script for a couple of them. I was just like damn this place really is international.

Obviously there are assholes out there who do this, but I feel like overall English speakers are pretty tolerant of broken English since they encounter it almost every day. I feel like ppl who do criticize it don't actually care, they're just racists looking for an excuse.

I feel like gold only really protects you from a depression. It doesn't really do much if shit really hits the fan and people go all Mad Max. In an environment like that, weapons, food and medical supplies will be the currency of the day. Gold itself isn't really useful. It's just rare.
