Some people think it doesn’t matter if it’s a migrant. It does matter whether it’s a migrant or not. ‘Illegals’ are a scapegoat, a test to see how much Trump can get away with. Who will be next? Anyone who Trump dislikes or considers a threat will be ‘disappeared’. This is all but a dictatorship.

It might help if we had Chancellors that actually understood government spending and didn’t lie to the public by continually comparing the government’s budget to a household budget.

Could the government tax the huge profits from the banking sector? Nearly £10bn from just two banks? Errr, no.

Maybe the government could tax the big tech companies that are making huge profits? Errr, no.

70,000 is surely only a reasonable estimate but probably much less than the actual figure 😢

We saw Police arresting peaceful protesters in Birmingham this afternoon. There were bystanders watching who couldn’t believe what was happening. The influence of Israeli funding on the traditional duopoly parties is clear to see. 🤬 If this can happen about Palestine, it can happen about things here

💯exactly what I think too. The UK won’t be immune to more severe weather events caused by climate damage.

@zoejardiniere.bsky.social this will create huge numbers of displaced people. It will require a major discussion amongst European countries to come to an agreement about the support given for those displaced by climate damage. NIMBYism is not an acceptable option.
November 29, 2025 at 8:54 AM
Those displaced will be looking to relocate. Many European govts have become right wing and refusing to admit ‘migrants’. Where are all these displaced people supposed to go? There needs to be urgent talks in Europe about water and food scarcity and people displaced by the effects of climate damage.
November 29, 2025 at 8:49 AM
The lack of water reserves will cause lots of people to be permanently displaced. You’ve already mentioned the massive impact on the availability of certain foods created by climate damage. 1

Professor Hannah Cloke told us,“We should be focusing on water reuse, using less water in the first place, separating drinking water from those recycled waters that we could use, using nature-based solutions + thinking about the way that we’re building".

Even areas getting wetter may experience water shortage as the intense, sudden rainfall that climate change drives leads to flash floods + runoff which don't replenish groundwater.

In Europe, a division is emerging: the south and south east grow drier, including parts of the UK. Meanwhile, the North and North East, including parts of the UK, are growing wetter:
