PS - I missed out the obvious 'become a world leader in AI creation'.
June 1, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Thus is what I mean by politicians being honest. 'Grow the economy ', 'create jobs', 'the threat if AI', etc are all treated as separate items but they are so interrelated and to a degree contradictory and this is never openly discussed.
June 1, 2025 at 1:37 PM
That is very true but my concern there is that with the coming of AI, government income from work-baaed taxes is likely to decrease. I wrote an article on this for West England bylines. lssue is that most people don't have much more to give in taxes and taxing those with money is the solution

Totally agree.
June 1, 2025 at 12:57 PM
I agree with the individual responsibility comment but I also think our political parties have a responsibility to be honest with us when promoting their agendas. It was this latter point I was trying to address with the idea of 'do it again' if turnout was too low.
June 1, 2025 at 12:26 PM
But what is the point in forcing people to vote if none of the parties offer what someone can support? It also does not address the question that once elected, any / all parties policies are subject to approval of the markets, no matter what was promised in manifestos

I am by no means convinced that PR on its own will make much difference
