Coincidentally, I was just walking by, and that block is mostly the Truist building now. The Mutual Aid building at the far right is from 1906, and replaced their building at the same spot in the original picture.

I was in the area today so I stopped by. Sadly they replaced that section of sidewalk and got the plastic covers 😔 (1416 at bottom)

From a quick search through the RTD archives, the closest one I see is this June 28 1963 show at the Lyric Theater, just a few months before it was demolished

I mean, it's not the *whole* block, but it's pretty close. And yeah, he has 18 properties on the city's vacant list, which is 10 more than anyone else. And he only has 38 properties in the city total, so over half are vacant.

Sometime in the last year, the city put up this utility box, maybe for the walk/don't walk sign. For some reason they put it on top of this pallet and wooden box, and it just... stayed there. They've been there long enough now to get tagged a few times.

Step 1 is done, replicating in maplibre with pmtiles the cost/savings analysis I previously did in QGIS. Next steps are to implement these two maps, showing (1) a hypothetical flat land tax, and (2) the gradient of assessed land value per square foot.
