I teach Middle School, make music as often as I am able, and believe in the fundamental goodness of human nature (despite ample evidence to the contrary).
Can we stop legitimizing that term by repeating it? There is no doctrine here other than thuggish right by force of arms. Using the name given to it by an authoritarian imperialist lends the action false validity.

Thanks so much for putting your public safety information behind a pay wall.

What is the likelihood that this SCOTUS rules in the side of the humane solution, though? If I trusted the full court to be humans, I would agree with you, but we have what we have.

Sorry, meant 48 hrs

She's forcing the appeals court to rule within 24 hours, and also preventing the full court from issuing an indefinite stay. Her stay has a deadline attached to it, and if she had not ruled, the full court would have.

Huge majority of these killers or attempted killers have been right wingnuts. But she blames the folks who oppose fascism?

But he cited it. How could be copyright infringement of he cited the source, even if it didn't meet fair use exception? (Actual question; I maybe don't know what I thought I knew. )

Given that the action CA is proposing will ONLY go into effect if TX does it first, i mean, yes, eliminate gerrymandering. But if some folks are going to do it, others can counter by doing it, too.

Sucks when satire is so close to what reality could be that you have to look for the Onion before you know it's satire.

So, "mostly" peaceful, except for property damage. Please stop equating property damage with violence. It's property, not people. "Mostly peaceful" actively implies some people were at least injured. If no one was injured, why not say, "Protests were peaceful, but some property was damaged."

Gotta wonder if that's where the platform furthermore known as Twitter got its name, given the leanings of the guy who renamed it, and his fascination with tech. I could totally believe that was intentional.

This is not "setting up a Constitutional crisis." We had a Constitutional crisis as soon as he sent the muskrats to destroy agencies that were created by Congress, and defund programs instituted by legislation. This is "piling on new Constitutional crises since he wasn't called on the earlier ones."

The goal is to keep the masses occupied so we don't try to exercise our power. If they can keep us poor, sick, and uneducated, we are much easier to control. And if some (or lots) of us die off, the ones left are even easier to control, out of fear or sheer demoralization.

Ah, yes, throwing bait instead of answering the question with factual data. Gotcha. Now I know you.

And those laws get passed how? With a minority in both houses Dems are not passing laws any time soon (and the guy in the Oval Office is definitely eager to sign those laws if they did get passed, yes?). Anything they can do to bring attention and gain support can help swing elections coming up.

She had the guy go out a door into a hallway such that he walked right past the federal agents who were waiting IN THAT HALLWAY to arrest him. And they watched him walk into an elevator. According to the government's deposition against her. What law did that break?

They do. Have character, can't post.

He's not even implying it. If he's being tongue in cheek, it's maybe a little too far in.
April 25, 2025 at 2:24 PM
Mentioning only the medal of freedom and being grateful to science for its role but NOT any of the hateful, spiteful, anti-science, anti-human-compassion things he did fails to point out the hypocrisy. Makes it sound a lot like glorification instead.
April 25, 2025 at 2:21 PM
He. Every mention of this kid genders him as he.
April 5, 2025 at 10:12 PM
Agreed. I put "advantage" in quotes for exactly that reason.
March 7, 2025 at 5:18 AM
Middle school teacher here: an 11 yr old girl has a statistical advantage over an 11 year old boy in that she's likely already going through puberty and he's not. Men get their "advantage" from testosterone, which isn't a factor until puberty. Kids'sports shouldn't be segregated in the first place.

We won't agree on this. If it was supposed to require a 3/5 majority to pass a law, the Constitution would have specified that. This rule (created in 1917 by the Senate, not the Constitution) allows a fringe minority to hold legislation hostage, even when it is overwhelmingly popular with voters.
