managed to fix this, it was very simple
feels good to understand another property in the engine, I'll try to share my findings soon

yeah, I can see your solution working outside of godot specifically, but this engine provides some helpers. I managed fixing it by using some property of the rendering engine from godot

it basically compare the Y position and after a certain threshold it moves the tile (chair) in front or below

It seems like it is solvable using the y-sort property, I'm investigating :D I'll post here what I finally find it out
