Could’ve/should’ve signed some jabroni off the street to be QB3, but only so many practice reps to go around, so you either roster the injured guy who you want to get practice reps or some guy that gets no reps. Neither is great, but chose Wentz to take the beating to save the rest of the QB room

JJ was the emergency QB3. If Wentz is pulled for injury they’re then 1 hit away, behind an o-line starting 3 backups, from playing the guy who they’ve said is too injured to play. They definitely sacrificed Wentz to get them through that week and buy them more time
