Arabic literature has lost one of its prominent figures, the Egyptian writer Sonallah Ibrahim (1937-2025). Passed away yesterday: French and Morocco-based sociologist and writer Jean Zaganiaris. Known for his work on gender and sexuality in Moroccan literature. Contributed to local newspapers, edited short story collections, and published several novels, including "Un cœur marocain" (2018).

Passed away yesterday: Moroccan eminent scholar of Hispanic Studies, Mohammed Salhi. Taught at Ben Abdellah University (Fes) & Mohammed 5 University (Rabat). Translated Carlos Fuentes. Cotranslated an anthology of Colombian short stories. Edited several volumes in Iberian & Latin American studies.
