Hello, I'm using this account to provide news and updates on the various projects coming from Khara Inc., including the Rebuild of Evangelion series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Cosmo Ship Yamato, and more!
He also reveals that the reason khara took Gainax's settlement was because they "did not want to spend any more of our time dealing with them" after disappointing behavior from Yoshinori Asao, the former representative of Fukushima Gainax.

He thanks Yasuhiko Kamimura for helping khara return Gainax's properties to their original creators to the best of their ability.

The official website for this set finally got updated with a more detailed bonus features list, and a lot of this is stuff I recognize or stuff that's been announced already, but what on Earth is Eva-Extra 05?

I'm personally gonna wait to see if GKIDS is able to release a more affordable version in the States. (Would be even cooler if they ditched those two dumb 4K discs as well).

I will still be keeping my eye on this thing to see if anyone extra bonus features are included with it that we haven't seen.

This thing is expensive as hell if you're planning on trying to import it.

Not including shipping, the set on its own costs a little over $500. A bigger set containing the full series is over $700.

Plus, the set contains two useless 4K discs for 1.11 and 2.22 (the masters for which are 1080p SDR)

Anno is also planning/producing the Space Battleship Yamato Complete Records Exhibition taking place in Yokohama during January 2-13. More details on the event can be found here: tfc-chara.net/yamato50th/n...

I should also point out that the only missing bonus feature is the Fly Me To The Moon teaser. Everything else from the original set is here.

Despite my complaints, I very much still recommend it. It's really nice having this movie available in the states again in better shape then we had it when it was Funimation's. For $25, it still beats the hell outta importing an original copy.

- Is missing the original Fly Me To The Moon teaser trailer (but to be completely honest, I can't complain too much about this, because I know damn well that anything involving that song has been difficult to license internationally since at least 2009).

- Underneath the slip cover is just a standard, plastic blu-ray case with a black, colorless sleeve. This fact seems to be intentionally obscured by GKids' website photo, which angles the blu-ray cover so as to not show you what the case inside looks like.

Cons:
- Has the same main menu as the Funimation version, which contains a lot of spoilers that should not be seen by people who've yet to see the movie (and the kicker: the menu pops up before the film starts, and immediately shows footage from the movie's climax after playing for two seconds).

- Outer box looks 1-to-1 like the original set. I'm happier about that fact than I probably should be if I'm being honest. (Bro, how did Funimation mess up the easiest-to-copy blu-ray cover of all time?)

- Contains (almost) every bonus feature from the original blu-ray, with English subs provided for the deleted scenes.
- Has a newly-translated version of the booklet that came with the original Japanese blu-ray (and in this set, it's less likely to just fall out when you open the blu-ray case).
