To argue a ceasefire violation (which Israel has been repeatedly guilty of) justifies the current slaughter of Palestinians is hypocritical; similarly, denying that Palestinians face violence at the hands of the Israeli state even when a "ceasefire" is in place ignores reality.

Even when ceasefires are in place, the Palestinian people are and have been subject to a brutal campaign of occupation by Israel. Palestinians civilians and children were already being killed by Israel in record, disproportionate numbers prior to the events of Oct 7.

Furthermore, 2022 is far from the only example of Israel breaking a ceasefire. Consider the article below, written in 2012, which outlines numerous examples of this occurring in 1949, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1981, 1982, 1988, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2011, and 2012.

Indeed, it should come as no surprise that children are frequent victims of violence from Israeli forces, given that children account for nearly half of the Palestinian population. 41% of Palestinians in the West Bank, and 47% in Gaza, are under 18.
