Yeah if I knew the whole of the White House was gonna get verified tonight I would have temp turned it off 😂

There are lots of ways to solve it and I’m surprised it’s been forgotten about. Twitter did similar about 5 years ago, allowed accounts to apply for bot status to lift limits and avoid false flags.

It’s been lifted thankfully, no email to say that though. Discord require full verification for bots like this, I wouldn’t mind doing it, if it would prevent issues like this. Doing that step tells discord your product isn’t going to be used in a spammy way, but even the header is a good idea.

Or perhaps there could be up front community engagement with active developers on here with best practices on how to avoid this. From reading terms of service it’s a false flag. But yes a long term solution needs to be done asap due to the constant growth of products we all create

I did they came back 5 mins later with a ridiculous reply, see thread. I already have anti spam rules on, I store data in my db to prevent duplicate posts etc. all it does is follow any time verification takes place and posts, like that is so mild to compared to other services / accounts on here.

I mean it’s nothing offensive tagging a user unless the post was insulting etc, such an odd odd way to behave. I did see another dev get hit with something similar last week.

Yeah, if you have two mins and check how ridiculous this thread is. @aaron.bsky.team

I’ll probably just kill my server myself before they do that, fuck them.
October 17, 2025 at 11:35 PM
Honestly it is. Wild. I already have a journalist emailing me from seeing this post 😂 either that reply is AI or someone is working while intoxicated
October 17, 2025 at 11:25 PM
Their reply. Wtf. Baffled.
October 17, 2025 at 11:22 PM
@jay.bsky.team we really need to have the option to label accounts as bots to avoid this. Especially considering neither has the account done any of this. It follows on average a few people a day when a verification is issued.

@whiteside.io looks like I’m now targeted
October 17, 2025 at 11:15 PM
Honestly it’s ridiculous, myself and others are pretty much being discouraged creating products with atprotocol because of issues like this. cc @esb.lol @pfrazee.com
