It's often feeling very "why bother" these days, on SM. Watered down by ai, infested by bots, full of engagement chasing rage bait, current or future surveillance of online activities that could potentially come up in a job review, border crossing or otherwise. Etc.

Anyway that's where I've been.

The public internet feels kind of dead to me (even here, though it's not toooooo bad here I guess).

Part of me feels like there's a creative outlet that I'm ignoring - but it's been amazing to focus on people, to rehearse a lot and sing a lot, play D&D, visit and hang out.

My online interactions are pretty much limited to work/voice chat while gaming and my private chats.

There's no one single reason.

AI is scraping everything, we're a commodity everywhere, and everything we post is something that will be slurped up and scrutinized by any kind of group.

Being "online" has been depressing so I've been avoiding it.

I still love tech, but that also makes me wary.

They're constantly repeating themselves and so are the people on the call lol
