A beautiful, stunningly crafted and informative piece of writing (not just saying that because my work is mentioned in it)

That you have found it useful is the most important thing for me. I hope you find some meaning, agency, and a constructive outcome in your struggle.

Whether you're in therapy, education, healthcare, research, social care, or any role that puts you in relationship with Autistic people, this is an informal, but intentional and compassionate, space where you can safely explore.

This is a space for people who want to:
- Think critically about their work
- Discuss clients and receive guidance
- Challenge their own assumptions and biases
- Be challenged in turn
- Reflect deeply on what it means to show up for others; ethically, compassionately and with accountability

🧵What Counts as "Reasonable Force" in England's Schools?

This English school’s behaviour policy admits there’s no legal definition of “reasonable force” as we have cited over and over. Yet staff are expected to know when and how to use it in what would constitute a “serious incident.”
A screenshot of a English school policy document titled "THE USE OF REASONABLE FORCE DURING A SERIOUS INCIDENT." The policy states that there is no legal definition of reasonable force, making it difficult to specify when and how much force may be used. It emphasizes that use of force should be a last resort, using only the minimum necessary. The stated priority is the safety of pupils and staff, and all incidents must be logged in the SIMS system. The page number "11" appears at the bottom.

Thank you, Sam. It's refreshing to see someone else say this. All that 'high masking' gets in the way of critical thinking 😬

@kieranrose.bsky.social I had my LSP meeting at uni yesterday and when she found out my PhD was autism based she told me she’d just done one of your courses that she found really helpful. And you could tell by the way she spoke to me and what she offered. So Thankyou 😁
