Just here to learn from people who are smarter and more talented than me. He/Him
Vinyl records have been the fastest growing format of music for basically that entire time. Yeah, streaming makes songs more popular, but the album shouldn't be dead. Music companies killed it

Also, the Them Crooked Vultures album slapped, but that was a one-off

I'm all for recommendations, but nothing has hit in years. I tried Arctic Monkeys and a few others. Just a few good songs, nothing transcendent

The Killers - Hot Fuss for me, but that was 2004. SftD was even earlier. It sucks

There's no variety. Every genre has been put into a paint mixer and the only thing that came out is kinda beige pop music. Country, r&b, and like 10 kinds of rock are all dead or sterile. What was the last culturally significant rock album? I couldn't name one in maybe 20 years

He has been *very* self-indulgent since he got his new contract. Borderline insufferable, even for him

Pete, back and forth between 1B and DH, 1B and 3B, or 1B/3B/DH?

smart, attractive, and strong (physically, emotionally, whatever) women are always the targets of their wrath. they see through the bullshit, and aren't afraid to call it out, so they become targets. it would be sad if it wasn't so dangerous.

people who take issue with someone attending a work function for their significant other are idiots

I muted his name on the bad site a while ago. It makes a noticeable difference. I recently added slop and Concord after seeing someone else post it. So sick of right wing engagement bait

when you say "living as you'd like to be" are you ignoring the effects other people can have on your life? i.e. you need to drink water and only get it from an underground well/river/whatever, but that can be poisoned by another party

Respectfully, does Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia think real power is with the people or the White House?

Reread what I wrote. We were talking about Mario Kart Wii vs. World
April 2, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Also conveniently ignoring the $60 Xbox 360 games
April 2, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Toys R Us closed in 2018, basically 5 years after the Xbox One came out. So they continued to operate for like 20-30 years after the N64/Genesis flyers despite people not going there.

of course it's greed. Corporations get their pound of flesh regardless. But I'd rather have a traditional Mario Kart that costs more than a F2P Mario Kart where courses are paid DLC, costumes are in the cash shop, and characters are a part of a season pass
April 2, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Some games might have been, but the $60 has been the norm for a long time.
April 2, 2025 at 4:28 PM
1. I'm not a Nintendo fan. I hated BOTW.
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold double what Mario Kart Wii sold, not 5x
3. Would you rather a free to play Mario Kart where tracks, characters, vehicles and skins are all a part of a cash shop? Or this? Because those are your only realistic options
April 2, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Games were $60 for like 20 years. They've also gotten bigger and more ambitious, with more ppl working on them for longer periods of time. I'm all for blaming corporate greed. But if you apples to apples Mario Kart Wii vs. World, you can't ignore reality and just blame greedy corporations
April 2, 2025 at 3:36 PM
hot take: games probably should've increased prices a long time ago. game price stagnation created microtransactions, free to play, live service, and gacha games. Nintendo games are none of those, so this isn't really surprising

You think KCD2 was less high-profile than Avowed? Seemed to me like KCD2 had a lot more hype than Avowed ever has had.
