That was longer than a few weeks ago. Doesn’t count.

UE4 is not a problem. You just have to use the engine properly, which is not what they’ve been doing so far.

I’m still waiting for Vance to get caught whispering „Hail Hydra“ into Stephen Miller‘s ear.
January 26, 2026 at 11:30 AM
It was. But it’s a big step from talking about it and actually taking your gun and fighting against federal agents while risking your life. I’m not an American citizen either, so I don’t have to make that choice. But I honestly couldn’t tell you if I’d have the guts to do so.

No need. Their tribal instinct is too strong to let something like logic get in their way.

Politicians will completely change their stance ever so often, and the people that support them think this is what they’ve always believed. There’s even studies about that. It’s one of the reasons why I believe a democracy as we have it can’t really work.

Hauer should have worn a wig and called the movie dreadlock.

Maybe you’re the troll and I fell for it. That might be the one thing I actually did not understand until now, if true. Well, in any case I will stop replying now. This leads nowhere. Goodbye.
January 23, 2026 at 5:15 PM
I’ve re-read every response of yours, and as I said multiple times, none of your statements even attempt to explain WHY it is wrong. You’re just saying that it is. And you continue to accuse me of being dumb, a troll, not understanding stuff - you’re doing more ad hominem than actual arguments.
January 23, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Maybe next time when you watch YouTube, try some philosophy videos about logic, reason and ethics. You’re clearly not used to such discussions and might learn a lot there. As said before, this leads nowhere. You have a very unpleasant way of arguing (insults, not accepting other opinions).Let’s stop
January 23, 2026 at 5:12 PM
No. You clearly don’t know what an ethical reason is and what is not. You’re talking about mod culture (meaning: „because it always was so“) and argue purely that you think it’s wrong. But you fail to explain why it’s wrong. The why part is the interesting one. You haven’t given me any ‚why‘.

But he’s not selling their game. It’s a piece of software that is completely original, even though it only makes sense if the game is installed. There is no code or assets of the game in it. This totally normal in other industries. Think photoshop or aftereffects plugins. Think phone cases.
January 23, 2026 at 2:56 PM
…to be emotional rather than logical. Emotions are not a good way to determine morals, though. I am looking for a logical and ethical reason against paid mods. And if there is no such thing, I have to conclude that paid mods are in fact totally fine and should not be taken down by big corporations.
January 23, 2026 at 9:37 AM
That’s because in all your responses you were not able to provide any ethical reason why they should be an exception. That’s what I’m saying the whole time. I see no reason to label paid mods as morally wrong, and so far none of you were able to convince me otherwise. Your motivation cleary seems…

What do you think about Awakenings, which is one of my favorite performances of his?
January 23, 2026 at 9:12 AM
Why not be consistent and call it AmericaLand?
January 23, 2026 at 9:02 AM
Pretty sure when it was in TV here 30 years ago, it was called Deadlock. Only learned later it was originally called Wedlock. Fits the concept better, too.
January 23, 2026 at 8:53 AM
Very different. Wedlock only has a rather small part in prison, and a way lighter atmosphere. You could almost call it an action-comedy.
January 23, 2026 at 8:52 AM
I’ve rewatched this one just a few weeks ago! Decent movie, especially for a TV movie. But in my memory the fist part in the prison was way longer. I’d have preferred that.

…and it shouldn’t depend on what CDPR or even we we consumers personally want. Is it morally wrong to ask for money? So far nobody was able to confirm that. If it’s not morally wrong, I’m in favor of letting the dev decide how to provide their own software.
January 23, 2026 at 6:40 AM
But why should CDPR even have a say in this? It’s not their original work and it doesn’t include any assets or code of theirs. It should be up to the guy who did the actual work. Also, since I am looking for an ethical argument, we should be able to say if it’s right or wrong in general…
January 23, 2026 at 6:38 AM
It’s actually you who doesn’t seems to understand the subject matter. And now I’m done. A guy who resorts to insults as soon as he realizes he has no proper arguments is not worth my time. Bye.
January 22, 2026 at 2:39 PM
Also wrong. I repeatedly said I‘d prefer the mod to be free. I just know the value of software and how much work it can be. I never said the mod should cost money. I said the dev should have the right to decide if it does. Big difference. Seeing that you constantly get all these details wrong, …
January 22, 2026 at 2:38 PM
How am I greedy? Greedy would imply I have something to gain. I do not. I don’t develop or sell mods. I’m not involved with the dev. I don’t even like his mod. The difference between us is: I know empathy, I understand concepts like ethics, and I am able to have a grown-up discussion without insults
January 22, 2026 at 2:33 PM
Dude, I didn’t even talk to you. Are you stalking me or something? ^^

Anyway, as far as I’m concerned you haven’t given me a single compelling reason in our last discussion as to why a paid mod is somehow morally wrong. Instead you resorted to insults after a while, which I didn’t appreciate.
