I know you weren't. When criticizing bullshit, I make the point that skeptics like me are all for making up things, but just without believing them as being real. When I point out someone's meme is disinformation, they'll say "it's still funny", as if they don't care about spreading myths as fact

Our minds making up crazy shit should be encouraged, it just needs to be tempered with basic critical thinking skill before we believe things are real. As bad as a lot of people today with that, it was even more mainstream back then.
