Maintaining that there are still beautiful things in the world even in the darkest hours. Also caffeine. Mostly that.
Agree/sort of disagree. The denial and urgency is for sure a priority. But not everyone might come up with that same solution, and the best way to get the ball rolling on these ideas is to state them out loud even if it seems obvious to you. So much gets lost on these platforms.

Like as a method to enforce voting results? Ok, fair. My point in this exchange is that I see a lot of “this won’t work” in online spaces and very little advice on “here is something that might” and we have to remember that not everyone is used to how resistance works.

I’m not trying to argue. I am genuinely asking your opinion. I took that as the implication because you responded negatively to the post and I didn’t see any alternatives offered from you, so…yeah, that’s the tone you come off with? So I invite you to please clarify with no malice.

This isn't a 'sleep soundly because it's all gonna be okay' message. But it's also not a message of total hopelessness. We have the power, if we remember *we* have the power.

I’m not going to say that this concern isn’t valid or that the conversation doesn’t apply to you, because as we have seen, US elections unfortunately effect many countries, but I am curious as to what your solution is? Like…stopping at “system broken so don’t bother” seems. Not useful?

It’s rough because I feel like a person educated on the topic can sort of see that coming but then these companies that we work at buy in to these technologies…like, great, you’ve retained my job but tied it to a sinking ship full of techbros.

Know your limits—I find it helpful to allot myself x number of community involvement hours per week and that can include social media/news. It’s important to be active and informed, but you can’t help anyone if you’re too burned out. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
