Ah, this was such fun and thoughtful piece. Pairs well with your Lit Hub essay (totally agree re: Hawthorne). People think of libraries as dusty tombs of silence not realizing what a lively hub they can be. Think I could I get away with a live, emotional support lobster, perhaps on a little leash?

When I lived in the Pacific Northwest, where we sometimes got more than 90 inches of rain in the winter, I used to swear that if I lay down in the yard, I wouldn’t be reclaimed by moss, I’d become moss.
