Long Covid MCAS POTS Vax injured Still wearing a mask!; Spoonie, Politics but it sucks now, cats. Thr*ads kimduke62, P*st & Spo*tible & the bird KimDuke, Slava Ukraini!, cynical AF, profanity, especially now. Dark humor to survive. RESIST
I was closing my eyes at stoplights 🤦

It took over a month to realize what had triggered it, then two attempts to identify which supplement it was.

My multivitamin, with lots of b vitamins.

Sigh. Taking a half dose now to see if I can get back to baseline.

Sooo dumb!!! 🤦🤦🤦😂

That is the PERFECT quote to tell the anesthesiologist! 🤦 It is SO true.

And you haven't even heard what happened when I stopped all vitamins that are estrogenic or that feed cancer! Bone deep fatigue. 🤦 Stopped 5 things at once, breaking the one at a time rule screws me every time! 😂🤦

Sinus surgeon, not ear. Grrr.
December 11, 2025 at 8:01 PM
And, the sinus surgery can just follow what they do at the earlier surgery. If they won't, I'll have to change dr's and hospitals again.

I'm starting to get REALLY irritated when people don't know anything about Long Covid. About due for a face the fucking reality FB post... 😒😉

The excellent news is I am scheduled for a pre-surgery anesthesia consult on Dec 30th! Virtual, so I don't have to take all the files and use all my energy getting there. I have a pretty good list already, but will confirm with LC folks. Used yours as a basis and added a ton more. I'll send to you.

especially with mastectomy on Jan 23rd. Then sinus surgery as soon as I recover I guess? (pray I don't need radiation)

And getting MRV's to confirm May Thurner's and check for Nutcracker, so 2026 may be my year of surgeries.
December 11, 2025 at 8:00 PM
The PET/CT said it was pushing but hadn't gotten into bone, Sinus CT said it's starting to destroy bone. Quick google "Yes, long COVID can cause osteomeatal complex" because of fucking course!

The sinus CT noted some bacterial crap in there, so that recommendation is 3-4 weeks of antibiotics...

Not malignant, but immediate ENT referral. Mine did an endoscopy and said I'd probably need surgery, and ordered a sinus ct. Sinus CT confirmed. Ear surgeon consult Monday. What is it?
Osteomeatal complex (OMC) obstruction (blockage in the sinuses' drainage pathway).
December 11, 2025 at 8:00 PM
when I reread everything I'm pretty sure it will warn of POTS symptoms and I just focused on all the things that could kill me. lol

And hey - I have another Long Covid thing! Appropriate here because it was found on the cancer PET/CT scan.

Showed r maxillary sinus completely full of mixed stuff.
December 11, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Awww, thank you.

I'm feeling better, but having a POTS flare / adrenaline dump over something mild - totally caught me off guard. So two doses seriously messed with me. I'll definitely send you everything that is potentially useful, because this is the last thing I was expecting. Of course...

That was my reaction, followed by huge relief I trusted my body and stopped. To be fair,my body made it crystal clear it did not want that in me.
December 10, 2025 at 2:06 AM
There was a lot of 🤦 reading my notes about MCAS afterwards. Fortunately I was aware it could trigger all the same symptoms as POTS, but didn't make the connection that it could trigger POTS. 🙄 😂🤦😂🤦

(Just saw a post on FB tonight from a woman who GOT her POTS from breast cancer treatment!😳😬)

@angryhacademic.bsky.social I have a couple of summary documents that might be helpful for you to have on hand as reference for other clients. Will email when I can handle searching through the 50 documents I generated. 🤦😘

Someday it will be funny that I expected MCAS reaction and instead got POTS!

My oncologist completely ignored ALL my other health conditions, including high blood pressure. And all of these drugs often raise blood pressure.

So make sure yours treats ALL of you!

(Yes, I will switch oncologists)

This is a post I hope will not be needed by anyone, just in case though...
December 9, 2025 at 10:17 PM
If you find yourself dealing with this, First, here's a HUG. I wish you the best. You will need to do your homework unless you find a unicorn oncologist.

Tip: when I first started researching I was looking up side effects. It was when I started comparing RISKS that the entire picture changed.

Her message back was skip aromatase inhibitors and just go to surgery and will revisit options afterwards. Same as at 1st appt

I had researched tamoxifen which works differently, it blocks estrogen from getting to the cell, it doesn't lower estrogen. So a possible option later.
December 9, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I decided the doctors would not take me seriously if I only took one dose so on Saturday I took a second quarter tablet.

It's Tuesday, I am still the most wired but tired I've been. Headache. Coat hanger pain on this stuff was bad.

So I stopped. Left a message for the oncologist.
December 9, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I figured with my estrogen so low there were two options: my body would barely notice the difference or it would completely revolt.

It revolted. Pretty much every POTS symptom I have flared.

And I had been worried about MCAS!

It did make asthma a little worse but that would have been tolerable

Verified Exemestane choice with LC team.
Since I'm extremely sensitive to medication I started at a quarter tablet. They're film coated, it says not to cut them, but they're designed to release all the medicine at once so it doesn't much matter. I put the quarter tablet inside an empty capsule.
December 9, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Oncologists frequently start women on these meds without checking estrogen levels first. Mine told me there was not a test sensitive enough. I found it at Quest labs. 🙄 Buy through Ulta labs on sale with discounts and it's cheaper.

Determined Exemestane was by far lowest risk for ME.
