Nothing wrong with a good frame up. You get bumped into and all of a sudden everyone after you for the item now in your pocket.

Dunno. Can be fun to find the backstory. You might need the knowledge to even handle the item. You know the ring id as magic but you don't know what it is. You get a hint. Put that ring on? You feel a little harder to hit. You don't know how long it last. Maybe the ring function against one enemy.

The Lords of the Rings Shire is more or less England. Although the movies are filmed in New Zealand. You could lift a map from there and use it quite well.

Crit you say? If you can use hold monster or the like you get an automatic crit. Cast Hold. If it work proceed to wail on the critter until one hit. Boom ded.
