It was a pleasure to join the launch of this landmark study into the social & cultural value of National Museums Liverpool's Waterfront Transformation Project.

A vital step in showing how heritage-led regeneration can deliver real benefits for our communities 🏛️

"Hatred and racism of any kind cannot be allowed to tear us apart".

Powerful words from the new Archbishop of Canterbury. Congratulations to trailblazer Dame Sarah Mullally on her historic appointment. I wish her the very best in her role.

She becomes the first female leader of the Church of England, replacing Justin Welby who resigned over his handling of a safeguarding scandal.

"I and my colleagues did not come into Parliament to pick the pockets of the most vulnerable in our communities. Disabled people deserve to live in dignity & the entire economy would benefit from further investment in access to work support."

"When 37 shipyard workers from Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead were sent to a high-security prison in 1984, their only crime was fighting for their jobs, the survival of their sector & their communities."

41 years on, the Cammell Laird 37 are still fighting for justice. I was honoured to speak at Labour Party Conference this week to call for their exoneration & for their names to be cleared.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

This government wants to reintroduce disastrous PFI in our NHS.

We've already had 24 MPs sign our pledge to ensure the NHS will always be publicly owned and publicly funded.

But it should be way more than that because this was a manifesto pledge! Tag your Labour MP in the comments below.

Alongside colleagues from across the House, I've written to the PM calling for the 2-child benefit cap to be abolished.

The evidence is now overwhelming - it entrenches poverty, punishes families for their circumstances & undermines the futures of thousands of children.

Solidarity with @rmtunion.bsky.social members taking strike action on London Underground today until Thursday.

No worker should be put at risk by fatigue & extreme shift rotations - power in a union, always! ✊

In June, we made major progress – with the expansion of Free School Meals to all children whose families receive Universal Credit.

But let’s go further and make sure that no child is left behind.

"Liverpool is a city built by waves of migration & shaped by solidarity. That is why I cannot stay silent as far-right agitators, fuelled by lies and hate, target asylum seekers & whip up violence on our streets."

The Poverty Strategy Commission is right in calling for the two-child benefit cap to be scrapped – a step that could lift 4m people out of poverty.

Instead, more families are being pushed into severe, sustained hardship, with even Victorian-era diseases returning.

I've signed @kimjohnsonmp.bsky.social’s EDM that urges the government to demand justice for human rights violations, use sanctions to hold those funding militia groups accountable, and do all it can to work towards a just and lasting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rain or shine, we’re out on the picket lines! 🌦️

Proud to have signed this letter alongside so many incredible women.

We reject the far-right’s racist lies about ‘protecting’ women and girls. They are not defenders of women – they exploit violence against women to fuel hate and division.

Proud to have supported this campaign - we’ve long pushed for medical evacuation for more critically ill & injured children from Gaza.

Now, between 30 and 50 children will receive urgent, life-saving care in the UK. Truly life-changing news for so many.

Great visit to Pagoda Arts to see their HAF summer programme. For years, they’ve brought children from all communities together through culture, creativity & history.

Wonderful to see them making animations, playing games & learning – services like this need support to thrive.

I’ve written to the PM demanding greater global protections for reporters.

At least 189 journalists have been killed in Gaza – many targeted for exposing Israel’s crimes. This is a war on truth. We must push for an international convention for the safety of media workers.

We promised to end no-fault evictions. We promised to protect renters from extreme rent increases.

Rising rents are now one of the leading causes of homelessness.

You can’t tackle a housing crisis while profiting from it. This does not set a good example.
