Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

I can't believe I'm writing about Kiah in past tense, but what a giant we have lost. Kiah was not only a brilliant and fierce attorney, but one of those rare humble attorneys who constantly lifted others up, was incredibly kind and caring, and held her radical politics with pride 1/2
Kiah was set to join our faculty at Howard Law School in the Fall. She was a dedicated, brilliant civil rights lawyer poised to make a powerful difference in our world.

Accessibility is so often framed as purely ethical that people forget it's also smart. You WANT people of different backgrounds & experiences contributing ideas; that's how you get a wider variety of ideas. If you're getting yr ideas from a homogeneous group, try to change that.
