OMG that was a fun screening, I remember being so delighted by the snacks and drinks before it. I need to see it again too, I have VERY little memory of it other than liking it.

The score is GORGEOUS.

To be fair, 1992 me was devastated when Beauty and the Beast lost to the movie I wasn’t allowed to see called Silence of the Lambs.

Annie Hall is at LEAST still a cultural touchstone which is something I always take into consideration with BP winners.

I love you in spite of your musical flaws, Schpanky. I’m glad we agree on the greatness of Two Towers though!!!! The fact that it got HALF the individual nominations that the other two films did is real dumb.

I don’t find Chicago’s win atrocious because it revitalized the movie musical as a genre. Those are REAL apples and oranges. Two Towers DOESN’T get enough credit though, and may be my fave of the trilogy.

It was truly a WILD year at the Oscars. Howard getting the Oscar he SHOULD have gotten for Apollo 13 over Scott, Jackson, Altman, and Lynch????
