I think the map ought to be more granular because The Most famous literally take up so much space. How about the most famous composer in Baden-Württemberg (Stuggart, Ulm, etc) for example?

Although I guess you could say it's "Reaganomics with Finnish characteristics", such as focusing government subsidies to particularly unprofitable industries like fur farming and low-value-added extractive industries (where extenalities are paid from public funds).

It's just Thatcherian/Reaganian trickle-down-economics that has never worked before either.

I don't know. It seems to me I'm in, like, Nigeria, while the closest Africa covers several countries

Where's Quickbeam when you need him?
December 18, 2025 at 11:27 PM
That is to say, I'm not allowed to fuck the crypto guys? Not that I wanted to, just trying to understand the rules.
December 18, 2025 at 12:50 PM
Ja sitten on alustoja kuten Twitter, jotka eivät levitä tasapuolisesti kaikkea "tunteita herättävää materiaalia", vaan boostaavat nimenomaan fasistista ja rasistista sisältöä, koska alustan omistaja on natsi.

But it's not just that: that also means the elevators are going to make more stops at more floors, thus slowing them down, like road merges slow down traffic.

And the solutions are well-known: more passengers per cabin, multi-decked cabins, sky lobbies... almost like horizontal trains systems...
December 18, 2025 at 12:29 PM
I've always analogized this to elevator conundrum, where increasingly more of the floor space in tall buildings is taken by elevators (at some point usable space starts decreasing, and at the limit they'd consume the totality of it).
December 18, 2025 at 12:29 PM
There's also the matter that adding lanes doesn't even increase the road throughput too much! Merge bottlenecks and traffic disruption caused by lane changes slow down the traffic anyway, and while adding two lanes to a two-lane road increases lanes by 100% doing the same to 20-lane road is just 10%

Älä unohda varainsiirtoja köyhiltä rikkaille.
December 17, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Toki siten että enemmistö äänestää intressejään vastaan, koska Kokoomus ajaa lähinnä 1%, ei edes ylemmän keskiluokan, etua.
December 17, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Entä jos tavoite olikin tehdä varainsiirtoja köyhiltä rikkaille?
December 17, 2025 at 9:21 PM

December 17, 2025 at 7:54 PM
On siinä "jotain" masinointia taustalla, olkoonkin "normi"

Tietysti juurisyy on Suomen Natsipuolue joka aiheuttaa tarkoituksella haittaa maalle. Kuten natsit aina
December 17, 2025 at 7:40 PM
And e-bikes solve that also.
December 16, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Minneapolis is undoubtedly a great example of showing how you can transform an American city quickly, but for cycling during winter, Oulu, Finland, would be more extreme example, with 12C colder mean lows, being 21 degrees further North, and cycling modal share of 20%.
December 16, 2025 at 8:57 PM
I was thinking Finns shouldn't be given a right to vote, but that is a more elegant solution.
December 16, 2025 at 8:04 PM
Where space is at a premium, we're mostly talking urban, and in that case the shortest path between points of interest probably isn't next to highway anyway (arterial roads go AROUND the city), but THROUGH neighborhoods, parks, etc - an advantage of cycling is being able to take these shortcuts.
December 16, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Now, you of course have to be contextual and sometimes the space is too much at premium for such an elaborate construction, but in "intercity highways" it typically isn't, and I looked at some maps and in Korea there tends to be adjacent smaller roads to highways too 3/4
December 16, 2025 at 5:38 PM
The highway and the local road are separated by a noise barrier (a mound of earth), and the light traffic lane is next to the local one, and between them is not a concrete barrier but a patch of greenery. Also note that the local road is much quieter (and less polluted, etc) than the highway! 2/4
December 16, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Solar panels aren't necessarily stupid, but the rest of it doesn't sound great. Here's a picture from next to Finnish national road 4 (E75): the highway is for intercity travel, and next to it is a more local road, such that people turning to their local destinations don't slow the highway traffic/4

Rehellinen uutisointi on "Suomen natsipuolue, aka. PerSut, on rasistinen ja fasistinen ryhmä joka valehteli räikeästi äänestäjilleen ja valehtelee nyt, varastaakseen köyhiltä ja toteuttaakseen politiikkaa joka on tuhoamassa maan, jopa erityisesti äänestäjiensä demografian kohdalla". Joka päivä.
December 16, 2025 at 5:00 PM
"Jotain sinne päin"? Totuudenmukainenhan asia on että persujen (ja välillä muidenkin) taholta tapahtuu satatuhatta instanssia rasismia päivässä; yksittäistapauksesta uutisointi kiinnittää huomion sen satunnaisiin erikoispiirteisiin vrt. ilmiö kokonaisuutena, ja valkopesee ne 99999 muuta tapausta.
