* Baby tomatoes! Couldn't get this lil' chonker in focus
* Cleaned out my two other units, pausing growing stuff in them for now, but think I'll go with lettuces and herbs mostly

Ayo! Book get! I started watching the series adaptation on a friend's rec and ngl, 5 eps in, I kinda ship the devil with his dragon dude who like, brings him his sword and goes full "Master, I have waited for you for 30,000 years!" How is that not the tale here? Anyway, on the list it goes! #lbfad

How it's going:

Kale, argula, spinach, chard: slow, not all that tasty for the trouble imo
Sandwich: made w/my lettuce and my coworker's home-grown tomatoes. Hell yeah🥪

The pesto looks a bit too dark here, but eh. It's whatever. 😅 And good enough to eat with a spoon, really. I... may have used my finger to sang anything the cake spatula didn't. Yum <3

It's hard to show the right color, but the pasta is closer. It's such a bright green when the basil's extra fresh.

Due to lighting, some of the bowl's outer teal pattern is visible from within the bowl. Beneath the bowl are the same yellow floral place mat and lemon floral napkin from the earlier pesto pasta photograph, though the yellow coloring of the napkin and its pattern are bolder here, perhaps due to angle or lighting.

I grew this and threw it in a blender 😂

Tricolor trottole + tomatoes w/pesto sauce. Bigger basil harvest (will likely swap to new plants soon, replacing unit). Pesto was made with basil, lemon juice, fresh garlic, olive oil, nutritional yeast, salt, water. Hard to show, but the color's very bright.

Today I experimented with a plant-based broccoli bake and got told that $20k damage is insufficient dmg to actually help, by people who took months to do it after they failed to obtain basic public information. Should've saved me the anxiety and handed me such an excuse up front.

Good broccoli tho.

Danmei hair ornament triple tech!!! XD Look what came (left and middle are new)! I told myself I wasn't gonna get a guan, but then I saw this... The ribbons are so long though, and my hair's still a foot shorter than usual 🥲

Okay, so maybe all the lettuces don't taste fantastic on their own with minimal dressing in a super basic salad, but they were all good in a sandwich 😂 I took a picture but I feel like there's no point because you kinda can't see it, and I already ate half lol. Ah well! Good sandwich though 🥬🍅🧄✨

It was either this or a sandwich. Salad! Leaves harvested from my hydroponic garden, with medley tomatoes, green onion, pepitas/pumpkin seeds, and a simple oil and salt dressing. Nothing fancy, just a snack to try it. One or two leaf types I didn't like, rest were good.

Nobody ever told me lettuces grow so fast. I've gone from "hey. Salad tomorrow, eh?" to "She who dares not partake of leaves today shall regret it on the morrow." Okay, okay. Bet, I guess. I could use a sandwich stuffed with greens later.

Some of the sprouts are still playing catch up.

How it's going:
My first unit's been having some issues and the water pump stopped running, buuut the basil plants aren't dead yet (manually refreshing as I can, but it's not as good), and I'm getting a replacement.
The XL unit with the greens is doing great, as you can see below. #hydroponic

From behind Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji looks on with an impassive and unimpressed gaze; in context for the character, this would likely best be parsed as akin to gritting his teeth in jealousy.

Likewise, here's the basil. I just cleaned the unit yesterday, so I've also swapped some of the placement of the plants. They're growing a bit slower now and I haven't harvested leaves for a few days, but as you can tell, they've become bushier, so that's to be expected. None have flowered yet.

Showing a coworker my baby lettuces and realized it's actually way cuter when I talk about them in (mostly broken) Spanish. "Ohh," I say, "Que lindas, mis bambinas~! Mira las" 😂 Go on! Mira mis plantitas pequeñitas! 🌿✨

I think since I took this one while the grow light was still on, I can't QUITE fix the color to look right, but ehh. A smidge finicky, this hydroponic unit's controls, but it's bigger. Anyway, here are my baby lettuces. Behold them! I'm replanted the chard and am trying to establish the spinach.

The sprouts each have at least three leaves-- two seed leaves and at least one true leaf. Some of the true leaves have reddish coloring to them. Two seed pods seem either barely or not at all sprouted. There is a light support pole at back center, and reflections from the stickers show that the unit's grow lights are on in the photo.

How it's going:

My baby basils are all grown up! They're almost about as bushy as I'll expect them to get, still giving me 2 leaves apiece every few days, and for a while, probably 4 at roughly the same rate. Wanna say it's been about 7 weeks? This has been basically stress-free.

They grow up so fast, my baby basils. I get 2 sandwiches or a tomato salad's worth of leaves every few days. They look thin, but they're actually well on their way to getting bushy from pruning.

I have a lot of housework to do today. Literal home-work. These guys're lounging though.
