With a measles pandemic in the offing, that makes two in my lifetime. The common denominator is the occupant in chief. Coincidence? If cholera or typhoid flair up in the next 3 years, I think we have proof.

St Patrick's day is the worst holiday. All the amateur drinkers are out bellowing, forgetting to use their inside voices. Leave the heavy drinking to the professionals.

Woke up this morning with shoulder soreness and was happy because I actually knew how it happened. I'll take it over mystery pain where I have no idea when I injured myself.

I haven't spent any money for three days. This is my new record for the 21st century

You know it's not all doom & gloom. Sometimes even without chemical assistance my brain surprises me with random feelings of happiness. Mostly for no discernable reason. I think I have occasional endorphin leaks. What I wouldn't give to be able to turn that faucet on at will

When I hear about important moments in history that I lived though I wish I had known to go there.

I'm not so much living in denial as dogged resignation.

Do you ever drink a really good beer and think, I should drink these more often?

I live on the water. Which is to say idiomatically I live next to water. I vote we change the idiom to be I live moist. Or perhaps I live damp.

Is it wrong to put both butter and cheese on your sandwich? Does that seem excessively milky? Perhaps add some yogurt? Do the milk derivatives get jealous of each other? Is there a pecking order?

I'm reading three books simultaneously. That's grammatically confusing. What I'm actually doing is switching between reading three books because doom scrolling has destroyed my ability to focus. Maybe I should trick myself by reading 3 copies of the same book.

I prefer passing out to falling asleep and coming to over waking up.

My semiannual crave for Spam (registered trademark) just kicked in. Can someone fry up an entire can for me?

I missed the Super Bowl broadcast. Anyone know where I can catch all the awesome commercials? Preferably repeatedly over the next 6 months? Is there a DVR setting that just records the commercials? I need my consumer habits directed.

The best start to a day is after 8 hours or more of sleep, eat a delicious breakfast, followed by an earth shattering, toe curling bowel movement and then immediately take a nap. I call it the adulting as infant process

Discovering a dead author U luv with a huge back catalogue is the best! U get to read all their books without getting pissed waiting for the next release. At worst U might get a lil' wistful there won't be any more. Nothing more charming than feeling wistful. Sure beats regret or self loathing.

I fell on the ice today. I'm not injured, but I'll wake up stiff tomorrow. This is not a problem as I've been waking up stiff since puberty.

The less I do, the more I want to do less.

I'm weirded out by the fact I no longer have any sort of radio.
February 5, 2025 at 1:22 AM
I'm constantly in search of new and interesting (to me) music. It was easier when I spent 40-80 hours a week looking for it.

The problem with returning from Vegas with great stories is that sometimes they include other people and gentlemanly discretion forbids me from sharing them. I shouldn't even admit I had stories. My cover story is I played poker more or less continuously, lost $10,000 and that is all that happened.

Do T-shirts breed? I have so many and no memory of where they came from.

The most important part of getting ready for a flight is making sure you have enough content downloaded from Netflix onto your phone to get all the way through your flight and the inevitable delays at the airport.

I go to Vegas often and all that really matters to me is that I come back with a good story.

I think we should make the technical term for the never ending migrations of people around the planet, "sloshing". Comparing émigrés to unstably carrying a full pail of water seems less threatening to me. Oh sure, your pants might get a little wet, but hey, they'll dry quickly and no harm no foul.
