I think a lot of people would call copium on what I’m saying but I find posts get a lot more traction there when they do get seen, and there’s a crazy amount of artists that don’t want to join bluesky there, so a completely new community & mutuals :)

But eventually your engagement comes back. You do have to be emotionally detached from the likes you get over there and know it’s purely algorithm. But if you can keep doing 2-3 drawings/sketches that you like each week & post them I think you’ll be fine :)

It is harder over there, but you can also reach a heap of new people! A lot of non hardcore artists + art fans are over there so you’ve got a chance at a larger audience too. The biggest thing is to not give up and just keep posting. I have 22K followers & still only get 10-50 likes for weeks

Yeah, if you’re there for community it’s great! It’s a lot stricter on posting and such if you’re looking for consistent engagement tho :( You have to interact with others, repost your own works, find good posting times, post consistently & always have good looking posts + be on topic.

It’s peaceful if you don’t spend hours on the featured FYP, or if you intentionally scroll past engagement bait on there for a few days & just interact with artists. Other artists are very nice still and I still see plenty of new artists’ works on there :)
