- maddie was made in 2024 because i wanted to make
a gorgon, really. i had the idea of one that was blind but could see through the eyes of the snakes. but she wasn’t very interesting so i reworked her this year, inspired mostly by king crimson’s “moonchild”

- valerie was created in 2024, after i had a really good idea for a werewolf, primarily inspired by al ewing’s immortal hulk. i struggled a lot with their design, but it’s good now. for a long time i figured i would never make a werewolf, but the idea was too good

- ritua was created in 2024, as i was trying to work out what to do with phantasmos. she was originally a vampire and based off of an idea a friend had, but i came to dislike her place thematically and reworked her into being a human necromancer a few months ago

- ellie was created in 2022 after a long development process. no one thing inspired her, aside from like, lovecraftian stuff in general i guess

- phantasmos was created in 2022 after watching morbius and getting pissed off that it did vampires wrong, which made me think about what vampires done right looked like. he was originally a lot dopier and very big and muscular, but that didn’t stick for reasons i forget

- noradion was created in december of 2021, as i recall? i had the idea of a shitty demon who tried to make deals for people’s souls, but then he always fell in love with his targets. but he’s kinda been flanderized (by me!) over time into just being a cartoon rat man. which is better IMO

- astra was created in 2021, using leftover ideas from an early iteration of clarisse. they almost got scrapped because i wasn’t sure if they fit in my world, but by virtue of existing they’ve now shaped it more than any other character. incidentally that’s why their design mirrors clarisse’s some

- zurletha was created in 2021 because i had an idea of an asexual queen with a big sword, and when my friend didn’t want this idea, i used it for myself. but she didn’t end up being a queen for long. still has the sword though
