This time is a bit different, I don’t post bc I don’t draw anymore. It’s weird, I might be depressive or hyperfocused. Hard to tell.
All of my students deserted me for the summer 😢
So I forced myself to draw some sketches to not loose those all tiny muscles in my hand lol.

I just realized I finally never posted it. Not the best photo but I don’t think I will be finishing it anyway. It was random doodling for fun and experimenting anyway.

It always shocks me how the wrong paper seeps the vibrancy from even really good watercolors. I used to be really proud of my self-mixed greens and browns. (I use 6 primaries set when on road)

I sometimes think I’m too harsh in myself in general. If someone else made drawings I make, I’d like them so much, but if it’s mine it’s: „meh, into the trashcan you go”.
I trash like 90% of what I draw. I don’t trash 99% just for future inspiration or archival reasons.

Irl shadows are much darker and bluer, but I can’t seem to edit it right. Also paper is warped.
It’s my first painting made with gansai paints. I hated it and wanted to throw it away at first but now I’m happy I didn’t. The dramatic lighting works and is charming, even when shadows look like soot.
