ughhhhh I'm sorry to hear that 🫂 i do think you don't need to disclose a reason to make new friends! they don't need 2 know, and u can have infinite friends. (unless ur group is giving you a hard time about it, in which case that's an even worse situation)

(the date went well but unfortunately was dashed by the fact that they were already in a relationship..while going on a date with me...and not disclosing it...when I asked specifically Abt it. sad!)

it took me going on one (1) date w a queer person to realize how unbalanced that friend group is. and like ofc you shouldn't expect equal levels of interest, but some base engagement??? would be nice???? the bare minimum????? I'm an only child my emotional needs from other ppl are very fucking low!!

I know reciprocation is kind of spiritual trap, in that you should give freely and without expectation...but that comes with some sort of relationship building, yes? instead it turns into me being the therapist and no one else doing so much as to pause for me to catch my breath on a hike

i started just saying how my day was anyway and it never gets a response or acknowledgement. they just pause for a moment and keep talking about THEIR day. both of equal levels of mundanity. feelsbadman
