I think I watched it around the time that I had become obsessed with Silent Hill 2 and I'd lap up any films that gave me even a slight taste of what that game experience gave me. I need to make a list of childhood films to rediscover, but research them first to see if they are best left in my memory

I remember this! I loved it as a kid for the 'vibes', but I can imagine watching it now would change my perception of it.

I'm not sure it's possible to truly have a unique creative idea, it's hard to not build upon the ideas of those before us, but I don't see that as a negative thing. Your mask is just as creatively valuable as the work that inspires you.

Remember at school when we actually had to make a sketch/notebook to accompany our artwork to show our development process? I'm trying to move all my design processes into physical media where possible so I can have a collection of books which have references and influences included.

For sure, it's nice when there's clear distinctions between body parts so you can easily mix n match. I got some frostgrave kits recently and they have been nice to use.
