But then birds natter outside my window
while rain patters on the roof.

the only one who could died by drowning

Weird is a good word for him, and Kara Swisher rolling her eyes is the first image that popped into my head when I read Matisse’s post.

Is he saying men have no agency and are lured by the conniving sirens of OF? Is he saying that OF caused this? No.

His point seems to be that these men are making poor, self-reinforcing moves away from regular human interaction. OF is therefore not the problem, but a sign of a problem.
December 14, 2025 at 6:21 AM
Your research about where OF ranks still tells us nothing about Galloway’s point: that some money spent on OF is a sign that lonely men are choosing the parasocial over the social.

What‘s the top site for men paying for parasocial connection with women? OF, right?…

Not to mention the Sisu sequel flopping in North American theaters

Remember, saying something is a symptom is not the same as saying it’s the cause. It’s a big stretch to call him a misogynist, raging or otherwise.

That assumes they’re “never putting the bowls away” and that the sink-zero person isn’t some controlling micromanager.

After breaking two dishwasher latches, I batch load. This can mean a few things are soaking, but I avoid lingering smells, big piles, etc.

Is that always less pro-social?
December 11, 2025 at 12:17 AM
Just like maintaining total bowl awareness at every moment of the day is tacitly assigning your partner the role of sink befouling manchild.

There is something genuinely useful to the framework in Malone’s post, but most of the comments seem intent on perpetuating the conflicts!
December 10, 2025 at 11:50 PM
Yeah, there’s no possible world in which a “sink zero” policy is immature, controlling or demonstrates an inability to consider a partner’s feelings.

The comments here make me feel like I’m reading a thinly-veiled argument about whether NATO is to blame for starting the Ukraine war because it wasn’t sensitive enough to Putin’s paranoia.

“inciting massive amounts”?! Isn’t that a smidge dramatic?

Or will this turn into a thread about how rap music and video games incite violence, and reading Nabokov incites pedophilia?

What are the KPIs for the leader of a minority party in the House?
December 4, 2025 at 5:57 AM
The “Kavanaugh convenience charge” to get her car out of impound was probably just as reasonable and fair.
December 3, 2025 at 8:04 PM
That assumes those 21% are the problem and need to be woken up.

Some are instead longshot bettors who understand the disaster but factor in MAGA machinations or Democratic ineptitude.

Others will be people who understand and actively cheer on the disaster.

Ugh, politics as fantasy sport.

Keith Richards.

We don’t have to worry about offspring quality- he’s going to live forever anyway.

We don’t have to worry about him going off the rails- he’s done everything and gotten it out of his system.

He’s one of the few people with the talent to speak honestly without being offensive.

(2/2) I hope you never experience having a false complaint levied against you, with the complainant simultaneously finding a thirsty, gullible journalist to sensationalize the story.

I’ve been through it. In the real world, that shit has consequences for people’s professional and personal lives.
December 2, 2025 at 12:46 AM
(1/2) Um, rights of the *accused*?

Trial in the court of public opinion as a first step only makes sense in the “everyone is 12” universe. Same for the assumptions that all accusations are good faith, all quiet processes are bad faith, and that all journalists are heroes.

This assumes that unions are virtuous defenders of “the working class” as a whole, and that pro-worker politicians would operate in a vacuum without undermining broader left-wing goals.

If police unions take a leading role (or are models) in a Labor Party, is that ok because it’s ”pro-worker”?

Probably explains the pursuit of Hunter Biden too.

At least they think Africans could have engineered it.

Before COVID, he might’ve said HIV was righteous punishment for un-christian acts among naked savages, wild animals and visiting gays.

Unless they think this was a side project of Cuban/Soviet involvement in Angola?

WPR also relies on a congress with balls and ignores how public sentiment is generally "Support Our Troops" (and in turn any president with half-decent PR skills) in the early stages of any crisis.

WPR also didn't anticipate Trump who likes quick shows of force but doesn't care about aftermath.
