Thanks for pointing that out. Te point I am making that for most of his political career he had to appeal to the people of Islington (at most 100k-ish electorate) while Bernie has had to broaden is appeal in city, state elections and then national primaries.

Bernie actually had to broaden his appeal at various stages over the decades: mayor, Congress, Senate, presidential primaries. Corbyn had a safe seat in Islington (first elected in 2015) and only had to win one leadership contest to take over a national party.

Regarding Singapore. While other countries may romaticize agriculture, Singapore treats food (and water) like oil: strategic. It’s driven by national security not nostalgia. It imports 90% of its food, but wants that down to 70% by 2030.
