resenting my grandparents generation who had elaborate houses full of aviaries and sheds (they actually lived relatively dull and difficult lives in rural australia)
As I say, that can be done (and I suspect a lot of academics are going to have to do this for book storage sooner or later). Pets is trickier; there's no Men's Shed for you to park your aviary or your aquarium or whatever.

NIMBY and anti-housing groups often rely on symbolic language. Greedy developers, luxury apartments, etc. But why do so many of them roll out the word "village"?
