Today, the lawsuit against the City's Zoning for Housing policies was dismissed by the courts. This is a great victory for those who need more affordable and better housing in Alexandria, and the many Alexandrians who advocated for these policies — which are a start, not an end, to our efforts.

Baking fun today: bread made with a pouliche preferment. I acc dentally added too little flour before starting the bulk fermentation, and tried to incorporate it as I folded the dough. This I got a limited rise and it’s a bit dense — but still very tasty!

Since 2005 (when it was 5.7%), there's never been more than a 2.5% delta between the Virginia Democratic gubernatorial nominee's margin and the attorney general nominee's margin. While once there was a lot of variability between the results in the three statewide races, that's mostly gone now.

Apparently the guy who leaned on his horn and screamed at me from his truck thought that such actions would magically change the fact that the right-turn lane at Janneys and Quaker is also the sharrow for bike riders going straight to enter the Seminary bike lane.

We need fewer guns in the hands of people who shouldn't wield them. We need leaders who encourage calm and reconciliation in the face of heinous crimes like those in MN and UT instead of calling for retribution.
