NEW: Elon Musk gets billions of dollars in federal contracts for his rocket company SpaceX. But documents we saw shows the company - despite a $350 billion plus valuation - likely hasn’t paid federal taxes for years, and may never pay them! w/the great Susanne Craig www.nytimes.com/2025/08/15/t...

Elon Musk just posted a drug test dated about two weeks after our investigation published (unverified so far). Reminder that our story covered the period leading up to the election and we also reported he was receiving advance warnings from SpaceX ahead of drug tests

Trump has been telling people that Musk’s crazy behavior is linked to his drug use. Our investigation, which Trump was briefed on, published last Friday before their falling out www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...

Musk is also contradicting his own statements from last year, when he said he was talking small amounts of “prescription” ketamine
kirstengrind.bsky.social
Elon Musk is now trying to claim he doesn’t do drugs. Here’s our response @nytimes.com
kirstengrind.bsky.social
A reminder that Musk holds a “top secret” security clearance through SpaceX and is supposed to be reporting all drug use to the federal government…and he hasn’t www.nytimes.com/2024/12/17/t...

White House responds to our story: “The drugs that we’re concerned about are the drugs running across the southern border.” No comment on whether Musk’s been drug tested or if Trump was aware

NEW: Megan Twohey and I went deep on Elon Musk’s intense drug use as he rose to political power alongside Trump last year. He was using so much ketamine that he told people it was affecting his bladder. At SpaceX, he is getting warnings ahead of drug tests www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...

This story also goes deep on all the family drama Musk has been dealing with in his push to procreate, including new details on how he is breaking a custody agreement by carrying his son X around everywhere

It's funny how these guys respond to coverage that holds them to account.

Yes, the story was about NDAs, but it was also about what those NDAs prevented people from saying: That trialists were getting sick on Bryan Johnson's products.

“…Mr. Johnson said his biological age had reversed 5.1 years. But the results of a range of internal studies of his health between January 2022 and February 2024 showed it had increased by as much as 10 years, according to charts of the blood test results.”

As part of this months long investigation, I learned that some of Johnson’s employees have now filed federal complaints against him about the NDAs, and his longtime longevity doctor has left his startup after concerns about the safety of the supplements Johnson sells to customers

NEW: Bryan Johnson has spent years curating his image as a longevity guru, including in a new Netflix doc. But behind the scenes, he has wielded NDAs to cover up the unfavorable results of his biohacking, side effects of the supplements he sells and escapades in his personal life. shorturl.at/BFe5w
