Today I rode my bike to and from work, for the first time in about 12 years. I understand why I used to do it all the time; it feels great. But also I used to live a lot closer to my jobs. Today was about 12 miles round trip

I cried at band practice today. That's a first! Heather and I had just finished writing the lyrics to a new song, and hearing her sing the beautiful words we had just achieved made me emotional. I'm a big softy and I love making music

I'm really enjoying Reddit, it's my app of choice now. Sometimes I check in on r/chicoCA. The latest drama there is, Health Department shut down the Esplanade Taco Bell for cockroaches. Pictures of roaches, story of roach in burrito, etc. Pretty awesome. Wonder if I've ever eaten a roach there

I just ate Pilchards for the first time. It was even better than I imagined. What a perfect little fish. "Nuri" brand Sardines from Portugal. $6 a tin is a little pricey for a daily deen, but I'll surely return to these delightful fish

Found out today that I'll have to switch routes again. It'll be my fourth route in less than two years as a bus driver. I'm happy to be moving up seniority to a longer route, but sad to leave my students. Kids need stability

Today I drove a high school basketball team to their game. I watched the game, and it was pretty fun! Would be more fun if parents weren't there. Any Dad who yells at the ref is a goofus, a dingus, a lame-o, etc. further proof that "kids rule, parents drool"

Every day I eat a Meyer lemon from our tree. They're so mild and sweet, I just peel and eat them like a mandarin. I feel like a million bucks and my immune system is through the roof. I'm never getting sick again
