Oh that's disappointing to hear.

I guess KR and JP don't really have the same view on AI art as the westerners.

Right, but Disney uses Toonboom as well. They're not using only one product. Obviously Animate is the cheaper product, and discontinuing means all past and present shows that use it are gone forever. No other product can read FLA files. All you can do is unzip them to recover static assets.

Disney has their own animation tools that can do what Animate does. Flash(Animate) was likely used more by specific shows that had some or all of the animation work outsourced. They can't use Disney's in house tools.

If they kill the program, all these shows are lost media.

We are literately living in an age of this. What used to be chalked up to cartoon villainy, nope definitely that's how people with big egos and thin skin talk.

Still there is one religion I would avoid antagonizing at all costs, so as long as you aren't using the exact names of gods from currently practicing religions you're safe.

IMO, fiction is fiction. It's just ridiculous to think any work of fiction is any different from any other story about sky wizards.

wait, how did it order for you?

That usually works as long as a cut-away is to something previously established as equally important.

TV shows have B-roll of the same shot during the day and during evening to indicate a large amount of time passing, it's simple, but it feels like a statement of "and nothing important happened."

I didn't own a PS1, my sister did, so the only game I played on it technically was Parasite Eve.

My favorite stories are time travel, but also my least-willing-to-accept-nonsense from. I love it when everything fits together.
January 13, 2026 at 5:23 PM
I like stories that have self-consistent rules, which is why I'm generally onboard with a shorter one-storyline story that is 8-13 episodes watched consecutively instead of the 26 or 52 episode "every week a bottle episode" format of television of the 90's where nothing that happened mattered.

I guess it depends if it's applying a glamor (basically applying it like a costume, where it's just skin deep) or if it's applying it on biological level (by which then even memories would regress and become permanently lost.)
January 13, 2026 at 5:03 PM
Wouldn't a age-regression curse make their hair shrink though?
January 13, 2026 at 4:47 PM
Well hair loss or partial grey hair (usually in the fringe) is usually the way to code for that. Though some styles are really hard to read that. (See Netflix Scott Pilgrim)

eg If i want to scale a castle, and don't have a grappling hook/gun, I'd need "wings" or a "magic carpet" or something. So wings could go higher, faster, but it would be like using a glider once reaching maximum height. Where as a magic carpet would only really "hover" inches over a surface.

Like in my ideal fantasy RPG, flight would need to use a specific 'gear' space that is shared with diving gear, and contain upgradables for how long it can be used, how far, how high or deep, and how fast it would work.
March 21, 2025 at 3:25 AM
I think it depends on the environment. A Jetpack (a la no man's sky) is basically mandatory because you get stuck underground, or unable to climb mountains. "Wings"/flight in some MMO's tend to make cheesing objectives trivial.

If VR ever evolves to a point where you can feel pain/pleasure (look up "phantom limb treatment mirror") there may be actual injuries sustained in VR because the body doesn't know it's not injured (see motion sickness.)

Imagine a VR company trying to waiver away that.
January 29, 2025 at 1:07 AM
I suppose it depends on the game you're playing. There are literately hundreds of non-VR games that are "player character is transformed or non-con'd into doing things against their will", but in a VR context, the body actually believes actions taken upon the stimulus' are real.

Performative 'wokeness' is always seen through by people on one side, and used as slander by the other. Just look at all the banks quickly and quietly erasing their inclusivity policies so they don't get targeted by the fascists.

Given infinite time, the monkeys would evolve language and eventually write hamlet, and then when the typewriters no longer exist, go back to being monkeys.
