Really? Idk it feels like ps3 was when games stopped having horrid low res textures but most games were still really barebone's and closed off not to mention there was like no detail anywhere. Optimization definitely does suck though

Another thing may be investors too. Another thing too imo is the fact that gamer's will still buy the game even if it's broken so that doesnt help

I would prefer games that perform better but game optimization is not something that executives see as a good marketing point. It also takes time too, it's just game companies want their games out as soon as physically possible which idk the logic behind this as it just hurts sales

The thing is tho impressive graphics = free marketing. You will have to convince the higher ups in these companies that having a better performing game will result in more sales. Also less hardware restrictions = cooler stuff that the 3d artists can make.
