Henri III is sending an envoy to Scotland, La Mothe-Fenelon, a former ambassador to England. The duke of Guise, whose hopes of a glorious invasion of Scotland and England to restore Catholicism have dampened a bit lately, also writes to James, hoping perhaps to salvage something from the mess. 5/

The queen has an ambassador from the King of Navarre, the future Henry IV of France, visiting her; apparently Henry has a plan to reconquer part of Navarre from Spain and wants support. I don't think anything came of this. 5/
