I come from a land down undah'
I would agree with your second option, but for the mango. I don't like mango (this isn't a pineapple on pizza thing, don't worry)

I've never had anchovies, and I'm not keen to try them. My dad used to get tinned sardines, mix them with tomato sauce, and it just put me off that kinda thing

That wasn't clever, Jimmy might have to put all sharp implements in safe places so you can't get to them once he's over there

When can I visit?
January 23, 2026 at 3:46 AM
Oh yes, I'm familiar with previous incidents, hence the "[again]". I just wasn't aware of this recent example

Yeah, nah
There's enough things through the day that have that "Oh. That was *that* long ago..." feeling, I don't need more

I was reading something about the mid-1960's and my mum made a comment about "60 years ago", while up to that point I was perfectly content thinking it was only 40 years ago

Ain't that the truth...

I have known some absolutely lovely nurses over the years, across multiple different wards, but there's always at least one who either needs to fix their attitude towards patients, of find a more suitable career

An antenna for *receiving* broadcast radio can be surprisingly small, but I feel earbuds would be a bit too small

Even if they could, it's radio...

Was gonna say, the Prog is doing a great job there Gustave

Thankyou for the pronunciation guide!
I had it pretty much right, but happy now that I'm certain

In some technical senses they might be referred to as a device, sure. But in the colloquial meaning of "device" they're no such thing, they have no electronic components to speak of, they're just more advanced (and effective/comfy) versions of regular foam plugs.

This also annoys me

Okay, I knew there was some controversy over Marathon, I didn't realise Bungie had straight-up lifted someone else's art [again]

It's not really my vibe, but I can still understand the appeal
(Worth noting that I wear Jeans and a T-shirt 99% of the time)

Yes, this also means you aren't alone in being "weird" about it (not that I think it's a weird position to take)

Just looking at them, especially the first one, makes my brain recoil from the "not quite a pattern"
January 21, 2026 at 11:21 PM
Yeah, as soon as I saw the images I had a good idea of what it was going to be

The consistency/pattern with some letters combined with seemingly random inconsistencies

Either it needs a consistent pattern, or it needs to be as noisy as possible so there is no discernable pattern

Goodness, just re-read that and felt I should clarify:
This is not me excusing use of AI. I choose not to pursue development of my artistic skills, but I sure as heck don't turn to AI. I simply enjoy the work of, and try to encourage, those that do pursue the development of their skills.

(My main talent is my ability to completely forget the existence of something the moment it is out of my field of view. The second is my knack for self-deprecating humour. I attribute both to my ADHD 😅)
