During World War 2, a lot of countries took in refugees from Nazi occupied areas, including the US.

Just so we're clear about who is who.

The left image is a picture of Captain America, who in the MCU was the national face of our fight against the Nazis. On the right is Donald Trump, who is the face of the MAGA movement, which has many similarities to the Nazi Party.

Trump said he would lower costs on day one- not shut down Pennsylvanians’ health care by doubling their insurance premiums.

This should not be a partisan issue - hard-working Americans across the country, in red and blue districts alike, rely on ACA credits to afford their health care.

If things continue on their current path in the US, which seems in many ways a repeat of what happened then, there may be more travel involved than people are used to. I can't predict any details, but there's no downside to getting your passport early.

Before/During World War 2 people who believed in democracy for the most part needed to leave Nazi controlled areas, even if they planned on returning as soon as possible.

As I was writing this, I was thinking that there are so many reasons to keep that passport updated. Even if leaving for political pressure isn't in the cards for some people, EVERYONE should travel to another country at least once to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of life.

I recently heard someone say that Americans take pride in not knowing what is going on in other countries. I have never felt that way myself, I hope people are paying attention to the world.

Make sure to get a passport if you don't already have one, and keep it up to date if you do.

This may be harder to do in the future.

Take note too when other Americans are losing their freedoms and government support systems, even if you don't think these changes will affect you... the next on that path probably will.
