When insurers require a prior authorization. They should have to pay out any money they save by delaying care into a fund that pays MD’s to do prior authorizations. Delaying care shouldn’t be profitable.

BCBS won’t approve my son’s inhaler. They recommended two alternatives. First is only for adults, second he already failed on, it’s a powder that makes him worse. Third could work, but requires prior authorization. PA sent, and they told me Friday was the deadline to approve. It’s now Tuesday.
