to be the WoL during his stay in Limsa as a Maelstrom merc - he's a hired squadron member/duty support for a low-level WoL. It is the only time he encounters the WoL - if that's truly who they are whispered to be. Who knows, after all? He's more concerned with the paycheck, anyway...

I consider the WoL version as a branch off his main timeline at the start of ARR. MSQ is the WoL canon, which leaves his RP versions either in the past before that moment, or where he remains an NPC and the WoL is someone else. In fact, he moonlights as a bodyguard for a mysterious client rumoured->
