Genuinely, Alice has the survival instinct of a lemming (as well as the social skills of one). I don't think I'm the target audiemce for this novel

The Therapist - B. A. Paris

I don't believe I have ever met a more unlikable protag. Alice moves into a suburban cul-de-sac with her partner Leo, finds out the woman who lived there before was supposedly killed by her husband, and tries to uncover the truth with the assistance of a P.I.

Nothing says early adulthood like making a mad dash through the house to find a USB cord that *technically* works with a device that you've lost the primary cord to

How to Host a Murder: The Chicago Caper

A narrative-focused board game that had me and seven other classmates taking up characters linked to the death of one Harrold "Hal" Coppone.

While the gameplay boiled down to us just revealing information to each other, it was quite fun!

Seven Dials - Netflix miniseries

Admittedly never read (or even heard of) the original book this was based off of, I don't think anybody in my class had. I found the lead actress to be fairly flat, the plot to be meh, and the color grading to be quite dull most of the way through.

Clue (1985) - Jonathan Lynn

This is possibly one of the funniest movies I've seen in quite a long time. Loosely based off of the board game, the plot is made up for why they're all here. A bit of a slow start but it ramps up greatly in the latter half.

The Unquiet Dead - Ausma Khan

Murder Mystery/Historical fiction. It uses the Srebrenica genocide as a vehicle to drive a mystery that takes place in the present day. Amidst that there is a less-than-compelling side plot featuring the lead's dysfunctional family. Could have been left out

Hard Time - Sara Partetsky

This was a compelling murder mystery novel featuring a headstrong woman private investigator who sometimes makes bad decisions. 9th book in a series so there's some pre-established lore I didn't know when reading. Features themes of abuse and the media.

I'm starting out with books/movies I had to read/watch for my Murder Mysteries college rush course.

The following books listed had to be read in the span of 3 days despite being hundreds of pages. As a result, I had to skim a bit more than I'd have liked to.
