It’s #honeybread from Belgium for me too, I even contacted the Belgian producers to ask them to sell in the UK - but apparently they wouldn’t as it’s not in accordance with our taste preferences (which is rubbish). And #flanbolo #haribo might just be the best thing in the modern sweet aisle

Great to see the sponsorship deal with Countdown has finally come through - it was announced on last Thursday’s show
The first three letter choices placed on the Countdown board of the long running Channel 4 TV show are the consonants DNF - familiar to cycling fans as the acronym for Did Not Finish.

I think this year’s road signs marked the transition - as previously they were just branded ‘criterium du Dauphiné’

A trip up in to the clouds at Tre’r Ceiri (town of the giants) on Llyn Peninsula today for a very atmospheric #hillfortwednesday where I was surrounded by dozens of stone round houses, within walls meters thick, and with only choughs and clouds for company

In a supermarket products on shelves have been rearranged so that a packet of Liège waffles is placed in a shelf above another shelf where there is a packet of Bastogne biscuits, that is placed on to of another packet of Liège waffles

Introduce yourself with four climbs
The view on a bright summer’s day of the descent from the Col du Pré through meadows of bright yellow flowers and pine trees, towards to Roselend Reservoir in the middle distance with the ascent to the Cormet du Roselend in the distance. This route was once described by Daniel Friebe as the hipster route up that climb, as opposed to the more direct route from Beaufort in the Savoie department of the Rhône-Alpes The view back down the Col du Joly, an out and back climb in the Savoie department of the Rhône-Alpes. Through low clouds the sinuous quiet road descends through scattered patches of snow, and disappears as a ribbon into the distance and Hauteluce. This climb leads to a fantastic vantage point of the Mont Blanc Massif that is only realised in the very last moment and when visibility allows. A road sign at the top of the infamously steep Rosedale Chimney on the North Yorkshire Moors states ‘Chimney Bank. Dangerous Hill. Engage low gear now. Cyclists please dismount’. The warning sign at the start of the climb in Rosedale Abbey states it is 1 in 3, which explains why it is also known as ‘The Chain Breaker’ A sign at the start of the steep and roughly cobbled Koppenburg climb at Melden in Flanders advises ‘Stop. When Koppenburg equals too crowdy, please wait, so you can ride to the top’. This temporary sign was in place for the Ride Flanders sportive held the day before the Ronde van Vlaanderen, and is needed because the short and savage climb sees many sportive riders having to walk the steepest 20% section, ideally on the right side to allow riders to pass on the left
