For historical perspective I note this morning that the longest American government shutdown in history began in December 2018 and lasted 35 days. Federal SNAP benefits were NOT stopped during that shutdown. Need I say more? Credit goes to April Watson for confirming this today.

Today I’m so incredibly impressed today by the Legislature and citizens of South Korea. Without hesitation they immediately rose and defended their country against authoritarian rule. Can we be like them please?
