Always be wary of an account that you never see being challenged and them responding in the comments. Such people are likely just blocking anyone who contradicts their claims.

on one hand it's certainly problematic for national security reasons but on the other hand since the administration seems to be an adversary of democracy itself it's not entirely bad to get insight into things like this that demonstrate the blatant disregard for democratic norms and law...

Gotcha, well my question was more about if there are apps you can specifically point to and say they don't have that problem?

Or I guess more specifically what this started as was about apps that do not use the BSky appview at all. Since even here there can be different levels of dependence... :)

Second update: A Jewish science journalist has now been suspended after publicly criticizing Bluesky’s CEO. A months-old skeet condemning Christian Zionism was presented as justfication, but this is clearly manufactured pretext.

At this point, all pretense is gone. This is outright retaliation by Bluesky’s leadership against any who dare criticize it.

Right, although you can have your own Appview and still have everything show up also in Bluesky so it's not really related to that. Blacksky is trying to roll out their own Appview soon

yeah it does look a lot like it only matches the shock collar version and that the back is covered but still has visible bumps for where the shock prongs connect and where the charging port is in the shock version...

I know. Are some of the ones you mention doing that? From what I read Link got banned from most alternate apps as well when Bsky banned them so that sounded like most of the other apps are using the BSky AppView.

makes no sense to compare this to the Bluesky's total registrations ever, the more relevant number is the 5.6 million monthly active for Bluesky. Mastodon also accounts for less than half of the fediverse.

Was a bit surprised to see it's less than half Mastodon according to Fediverse observer. If you only see the active user stats Mastodon is probably overrepresented because most instances on Misskey forks don't report active and maybe some other software is the same.

it's an unbelivably low bar to oppose extrajudicial killings of civilians based on unproven allegations of criminality but unlike most of the Republicans Rand Paul at least is human enough to recognize that is a bad thing.

cryptoanarchy is the idea that a cryptography can be used to achieve a form of anarchism. People who believed that were theorizing and attempting to create a digital currency that would be able to replace government controlled currencies for years and years already before bitcoin came along.
