Jay's has some reasoning behind it(tied to his heritage he discovers in the show) while Kai's is just "he looked nice in them lol"

After Kai finds out about his Monke origins he gains monke traits in his human form

3 Different Outfits For Jay in my Au S1 outfit is for season one n he wears a blue and orange mechanic suit with an orange scarf S2-3 outfit his a dark blue jacket with a white one piece bike suite (like Mei's from Lego Monkie Kid) with a dragon swirling down his left leg. He now has Dragons Horns and fur on his tail S4-5 outfit is the same dark blue jacket but now with matching dark blue pants and a white shirt with a blue dragon head on it. One of his Horns is broken while the other is cracked 3 different Kai outfits for my au S1 outfit is a Red varsity jacket with dark red sleeves and pockets. He has on a black v neck shirt and dark red pants with a dog tag necklace S2-3 outfit is a dark red Hoodia with the sleeves rolled up, a white t-shirt, black flared pants and black shoes S4-5 outfit is a red varsity jacket with white sleeves and pockets, he's wearing that same black v-neck from his S1 outfit and the black flared pants from his S2-3 outfit. There is another version of him as a monkie as revealed In the show
